Aliens

black sand texture

“Aliens” as a metaphor was introduced to me by an old dear friend. It has remained a really helpful way to process what it feels like to try so hard to pretend to feel ok, normal, and a part of this world. If you feel you don’t belong, and you tell yourself you are ok, that' you’re just an alien learning to be human, it can make things easier and allow yourself some grace.

Other beings emerge from this coping metaphor, like death, and demons, and monsters, and etc.. In my mind they all interact with each other, like parts-work i guess. They help make sense of feelings that, at times, feel too much to understand as a part of “me”.

I hope that makes sense.
